Offline workshop diary

Turn every heat, shape and finish into a record.

Forge Temper is a local iPhone diary for metalworking sessions: heating, shaping, cooling, finishing, project notes, tool profiles, templates, result ratings and workshop insights. It is designed for hobby makers, students and small workshop projects.

The page explains the product through the workshop process itself: plan a job, follow steps, capture result measurements and compare what worked later.

ProcessTimelineService

Every session has a workshop timeline.

A session is not just a note. It can include material, project, tool, starting temperature, color cue, step duration, step notes, photos and result measurements.

ResultLocker keeps a session marked as Pending until the maker records strength, finish quality, issues and observations.

HeatTemperature or metal color, time, tool and process note.
ShapeHammer, press, anvil or shaping method with comments.
CoolOil, air or other cooling context and timing reminders.
FinishGrinding, surface notes, final result and gallery attachments.

Six practical areas for a small workshop.

Forge Temper is organized around the core TabView areas described in the specification, with each area supporting a different part of the maker’s workflow.

P

Projects

Project cards for knives, jewelry, repair tasks, materials, dimensions, goals and progress.

O

Tools

Profiles for forges, ovens, anvils, presses and notes about heat zones or maintenance.

I

Insights

Offline reports for temperature vs result, tool performance, consistency and repeated issues.

G

Settings

Units, safety checklist, reminders, export/import, media purge and app disclaimer.

Local systems built for repeatable work.

The app stores repeatable templates, session records, project timelines and tool notes locally, then turns them into comparisons and printable summaries.

From one good result to a reusable process.

When a heating time, tool choice or cooling method works well, Forge Temper helps keep it from being lost. The user can duplicate sessions, save templates and compare up to three sessions by temperature, time and result score.
